Quick trip to Walmart

ImageSo today my son had a karate class and I though instead of waiting the hour and a half through it with a 2 year old, (I watch a friends baby on Saturdays) not to mention my son HATES to go shopping, I though it best to go and do a quick trip while he was in class.
So off I go, 2 year old, 11 year old daughter and husband all with me. Wasn't too bad. Went pretty smooth. I take advantage of the price match at Walmart a lot. I do like Publix and Winn-Dixie, but I do find that at a lot of Publix I go to I have been met with not so nice customer service, and Walmart does usually tend to have cheaper prices. Trying to get the most out of it, it just makes sense to ad match at Walmart for me.
This is what I managed to get today:
6 - Tena pads
7- Women's Mitchum deodorant
3- Men's Mitchum deodorant
4- Bakery everything bread
1- lb pastrami
4- Mrs. Butterworths syrup
4- Muller yogurt
8- Toaster Strudel
3- 7 up 2 ltrs
3- A&W root beer 2 ltrs
2- Finish dish washer soap
1- cat food
1- dog food
6- Angel soft double roll Toilet paper.
4- Orlando Sentinel newspapers.
Today I ended up getting everything for: 47.13. My total before coupons was, 152.73 For a total savings of 105.60.

I went to Dollar Tree today to see what I could find to match with coupons (yes, Dollar Tree takes coupons!) I made sure to look at the description perfectly, oz, name, color, size, EVERYTHING! I only got 4 of each since they only take 4 of each like coupon per day. I had everything just right.

I went to check out and was immediately hit with "One moment, Candy! (The store manager) I have a LOT of coupons here!)  Manager comes over and says, these do not match with theses because the PICTURE does not match. I try nicely to inform her that the description is what they go by, not the picture. She not so nicely says, "That is not the way it is done!' So instead of just saying ok, never mind and put the item back so as to not cause an issue, I decided to stand my ground mostly because she got snippy with me, but also because I felt at that moment she needed to be a bit better informed. I said to her, "Would it help if I called corporate to get clarification ion this for you?" She said sure go ahead. So I got the number and while she is staring me down I call corp, in the mean time she is pulling apart my ENTIRE cart which really wasn't much but she was trying to find something wrong somewhere. When everything else matched up perfectly she was a bit irritated, because yes, I had irritated her because not only was I standing my ground and questioning her, I was calling her boss right in front of her. Well I was on hold for what seemed like FOREVER and a day.
While on hold I apologized to her, let her know I was not trying to cause an issue or be a pain, however I feel it important for them to have the correct information, and if I am wrong I would like the correct information as well. She calmed down and was laughing with me as we waited for the deciding vote from corp to come in. As we were talking she did say, " I think coupons are great but I just does not have time for that, I have a job." Well I am sure she was not trying to offend me, but it did a bit. However I politely informed her that I also have a job, 2 kids that attend home school, so that takes a fair bit of time, I have my own "hobby" business, and of course all the day to day things that need to be be done, cooking, cleaning, kid time, hubby time, etc and yet I still find time to coupon. It save a ton of money and to me it is worth it. Well by this time I had waited on hold for about a half hour and had to leave t pick my hubby up from an apt he had. This trip was only supposed to be a quick one, so I just had her take them off and told her that I would request them call her with the verdict. Not that she really cared, however she should be informed. SO with that I was off and I swear I heard partying when I walked out the door.

About five minuted after I left FINALLY the correct person came on the phone and verified that I was correct, it is the wording that matters and NOT the picture. I thanked her very much and requested she call the store and inform them. So victory won! :)

Yes, I know this seems like an insane thing to do over something from a dollar store, the reason was not the price, it was the fact that I think if a store is going to accept coupons they need to be educated. SO I feel a bit better knowing I educated at least one woman today, no matter how much she disliked hearing I was right. LOL

Ok here it is 7 days in January and I still have not made a grocery store run, I need to really get on that but I am just getting over being sick and right now it is much too cold to think about going in a grocery store where there are cold sections. I will be going soon as I suppose my family will want to be eating next month and we are getting a little low on some things.

I have however managed to get to a couple stores for after Christmas clearance and some kids clothes shopping. Still need to get a bit more but have an ok start. Can't wait to see what January totals look like. Right now I am pretty impressed. So far shopping at Kohles and Target for kids clothes I have spent 47.79 and saved 149.07! Not a bad start if I do say so myself :)

Right now I have spent a total of 91.86 and SAVED 248.46 on different misc things needed around the house, clothes, clearance Christmas items and personal items. I will say that I have not used 1 coupon as of yet! All was clearance. LOVE clearance as much as I love coupons. I even have a jump on a couple birthdays presents for the kids!

Don't forget to check out the clearance items! Sometimes they have some really great things there that they are just trying to clear out for the last season. I got 9 glade candles, aerosols, and plugins today that are cinnamon but because they have Christmas wrapping on them they were all marked down to .74 each. I love the cinnamon smell so I was thrilled to scoop them up. I do believe there is a coupon out there but I did not have mine with me so I needed to just bite my lip and grab them. Either way .74 for Glade is a great deal! I managed to pick up a few books that they were trying to make room for other newer books. The books are originally 17.99 each I got them for 3.97 each. Wrapping paper normally 2.97 I got for only .25  a huge thing of Christmas ornaments that I will be using on my outside trees next year, normally 9.98, I got for 1.24 not to mention all the clothes I picked up for the kiddos yesterday. So even if you don't have your coupons, don't dismiss clearance. You can do a lot of damage with just that! :)

Happy savings :)

This is from my trip today. Glade plug ins, .74 each, Glade aerosols, .74 each, Glade candle .74 Candy canes .25 each, ornaments 1.24, Wrapping paper .25, Hello Kitty Stickers .49
Spent 9.39 Saved, 29.88!

Happy New Year!!!! Things have been very quiet around here, and I apologize for that. Things have gotten insane at both mine and my sisters homes. And oddly enough we have both been pretty sick. All the similarities an we live 2 states apart.
Well I have not been shopping really in the past 2 months, I simply haven’t needed too. I have gotten little things here and there but no major trips. That is a good thing about couponing, the stockpile which allows you to take a much needed brake from shopping from time to time. But as it is the new year and I have taken enough time off I believe it is time to get back to it.
This year I am going to do a little different. I am going to share with all of you what I am spending and what I am saving from month to month. At the end of next year I cant wait to see what the totals look like. Now I am starting off with a bit of a stockpile still but this is still going to be very interesting to see what totals are at the end of next year.
Keep an eye out, in the next few days should be a pretty good trip so stay tuned!
Dont forget to subscribe so that when we post something completly awesome you wont miss it! Also we have a Facebook page now!!! Exciting I know :) Come check us out! https://www.facebook.com/2sisterswickedsavings

Where have I been?

Well ladies and gentleman, I am sorry that I have been away so long! I have missed you all. ;) Buutttt…I do have some fabulous savings that I must tell you all about, in my bragging fashion to my dear sister. (Love ya! ;) I haven’t had time to sit down and write it all out, and I have misplaced a few receipts I think, but I’m going to try to give ya’ll a little break down on my savings and what nots. I will have to go store by store instead of transaction after transaction, because, well, I have a stack of receipts here. Lol. Alright, let us begin…
Rite Aid-
Bought 2 Axe gift sets, sale-9.99 each, used $3/1 coupon and $2/1 Axe gift set Rite Aid coupon= Paid 4.99, got $2 Reward, so I basically got it for 2.99, SAVED $7!
Winn Dixie-
Let me tell you, my family LOVES Reeses, so when we came across the Reese pumpkins after Halloween on clearance, we cleaned house!!!! We got roughly 100 (if not more) for .34 each, paying $34. They were 1.09 each before clearance, so I saved a total of roughly $75!!! Let me tell you, we STILL have pumpkins. Lol!!!
Walgreen-
Last week Walgreens have a great deal on Purex laundry soap. B1G2 Free. I bought 6 Purex, and 2 Turtles Chocolates. (More chocolate right?! They are Christmas gifts, don’t worry). Total before everything was $41.52, after coupons and stuff I paid $14.10 for a total SAVINGS of $27.42!!!
Freds-
We have a great store here in Mississippi called Freds Super Dollar and they double coupons up to .70 every Saturday, so I take full advantage of this! I try to go every week, but sometimes it don’t pan out. I went just last weekend and here is my findings… I got a bunch of stuff to include Werthers candy for my husband, drinks for my kids, cat treats and litter, rice, granola bars, and air freshners. Before coupons the total was 68.10 and after coupons OOP was 27.42 for a SAVINGS of 40.68!!!
Walmart-
Ah, Walmart my dear friend. I go to Walmart right around three times a week. Man I should cut back. :) I have too much to even start to list at Walmart, but let me tell you I did hit the clearance Halloween hard!!! And with my savings on Halloween clearance and all my coupons, my total saving at Walmart have been (and I know I am missing receipts!) $105.38!!! ( I have the receipts if you need proof ;) It really does pay to shop a few days after the holiday to get all those good clearance sales. You may have to wait a year to use the items you bought but to me it is worth it to save that kind of money!!!
CVS-
I have hit CVS hard this week with all their freebies after Extra Bucks. Plus they had really great deals on 2 liter sodas a couple weeks ago, so I stocked up! Before anything was taken off, the grand total of my three trips to CVS was $160.49. After all my coupons and savings I paid OOP 100.62, and I got back 78.08 in ExtraBucks, so I ended up paying only 22.54 for 160.49 worth of product!

WOWZERS!!! After looking at all of this, I really have a great deal more appreciation for coupons and what they have allowed me to do for my family. To total everything on this page up, before all savings these totals totaled in all a whooping 504.41 and after all, my OOP was 104.06!!!! Amazing!!! 398.35 in savings just this month alone!!!! And I know I have misplaced receipts. It honestly brings a tear to my eye. Thank you coupons!!!!
