Where have I been?

Well ladies and gentleman, I am sorry that I have been away so long! I have missed you all. ;) Buutttt…I do have some fabulous savings that I must tell you all about, in my bragging fashion to my dear sister. (Love ya! ;) I haven’t had time to sit down and write it all out, and I have misplaced a few receipts I think, but I’m going to try to give ya’ll a little break down on my savings and what nots. I will have to go store by store instead of transaction after transaction, because, well, I have a stack of receipts here. Lol. Alright, let us begin…
Rite Aid-
Bought 2 Axe gift sets, sale-9.99 each, used $3/1 coupon and $2/1 Axe gift set Rite Aid coupon= Paid 4.99, got $2 Reward, so I basically got it for 2.99, SAVED $7!
Winn Dixie-
Let me tell you, my family LOVES Reeses, so when we came across the Reese pumpkins after Halloween on clearance, we cleaned house!!!! We got roughly 100 (if not more) for .34 each, paying $34. They were 1.09 each before clearance, so I saved a total of roughly $75!!! Let me tell you, we STILL have pumpkins. Lol!!!
Walgreen-
Last week Walgreens have a great deal on Purex laundry soap. B1G2 Free. I bought 6 Purex, and 2 Turtles Chocolates. (More chocolate right?! They are Christmas gifts, don’t worry). Total before everything was $41.52, after coupons and stuff I paid $14.10 for a total SAVINGS of $27.42!!!
Freds-
We have a great store here in Mississippi called Freds Super Dollar and they double coupons up to .70 every Saturday, so I take full advantage of this! I try to go every week, but sometimes it don’t pan out. I went just last weekend and here is my findings… I got a bunch of stuff to include Werthers candy for my husband, drinks for my kids, cat treats and litter, rice, granola bars, and air freshners. Before coupons the total was 68.10 and after coupons OOP was 27.42 for a SAVINGS of 40.68!!!
Walmart-
Ah, Walmart my dear friend. I go to Walmart right around three times a week. Man I should cut back. :) I have too much to even start to list at Walmart, but let me tell you I did hit the clearance Halloween hard!!! And with my savings on Halloween clearance and all my coupons, my total saving at Walmart have been (and I know I am missing receipts!) $105.38!!! ( I have the receipts if you need proof ;) It really does pay to shop a few days after the holiday to get all those good clearance sales. You may have to wait a year to use the items you bought but to me it is worth it to save that kind of money!!!
CVS-
I have hit CVS hard this week with all their freebies after Extra Bucks. Plus they had really great deals on 2 liter sodas a couple weeks ago, so I stocked up! Before anything was taken off, the grand total of my three trips to CVS was $160.49. After all my coupons and savings I paid OOP 100.62, and I got back 78.08 in ExtraBucks, so I ended up paying only 22.54 for 160.49 worth of product!

WOWZERS!!! After looking at all of this, I really have a great deal more appreciation for coupons and what they have allowed me to do for my family. To total everything on this page up, before all savings these totals totaled in all a whooping 504.41 and after all, my OOP was 104.06!!!! Amazing!!! 398.35 in savings just this month alone!!!! And I know I have misplaced receipts. It honestly brings a tear to my eye. Thank you coupons!!!!

Let's talk Turkey!

With October quickly coming to an end the next thing on our minds is......... Christmas shopping! Well it is but that is not our focus right now. With the holidays coming up we have decided to have another competition. Those are always fun! :) We will find the best deals we can to feed our families and pass the ideas, tips, and deals on to you. Last time we had a contest to see who could save more, I won't say I whopped my sister, but I did a pretty good job :) Now of course she came in at a VERY close second. Then a very special THANK YOU! to Bri, our niece for tallying up the percentage to let us know just who the coupon queen really is. I plan on keeping this title, let's see if I can.

So check back for lots of good grocery ideas and Holiday meal planning! :)

E-COUPONS AND DEALS!

Hello all you awesome couponers! I know both my sister and I have been MIA lately. We are mothers first, and right now even though we live in different states both of our lives are CRAZY!!!! We are trying to get back into the swing of things. We are already planning new fun things in the upcoming months so just bare with us.

Now for the fun stuff. What you really come here for. In a previous post I told you about different types of coupons. One of those was the e-coupon. I have been looking more into these. They are becoming more and more popular. Several companies offer savings if you simply text to them that you want offers or deals. I have put together a list of the ones I could find and am passing this on to you. There are more stores that offer this type of deal, I just have not found them yet. As I do come across them I will be sharing with you. Each store has a 5 or 6 digit # you will send a text to. The code that follows the number bellow is what you will need to put in the message area to receive these text deals or coupons. Some have daily deals like, Family dollar.

Winn Dixie Shop

Hello all my fellow couponers! :) I just read the last post that Leigha had done, and I completely agree on it all! I must say that I need to head the words of if you cannot put them up, DO NOT CLIP THEM! I have a basket OVERFLOWING with clipped coupons and it’s driving me NUTS! Lol. Having said that, I did some FANTASTIC couponing today at Winn Dixie. I had that moment where the people behind me even commented that if they had not seen that with their own eyes, they would not have believed it. I love that! The other several people behind me (and I am so sorry you were the ones behind ME) told the cashier (who was my niece :) they wished they could do that. Again, as Leigha and I have both said, you CAN do it!!! Just keep at it, and follow Leigha’s awesome tips. Ok, so, here goes my trip to Winn Dixie! I am so super excited about all this! I bought many odd ball things including, 8 Enfagrow Toddler drinks that were BOGO at 6.59, and I had 8 coupons for $5/1 which gave me a great money maker!, 2 loafs of Nature Own Bread, 6 Kens Dressings, carrots, potatoes, Orange Juice, cookies, coffee, lunchables, salad, diapers, creamer and almond milk. Most of the things were BOGO and I used a ton of coupons! Remember you can use 2 coupons per BOGO.  My grand total before everything was 132.39. My total after coupons and sales were…5.39 OUT OF POCKET! Man I was so proud and happy!!! And to top it all off, one of the cashiers pulled all the coupons out of the trash that people didn’t want and put them in a bag and gave them to me!!!! I got handed a bag of coupons!!!! LOVED IT!!!!! It was a great Friday the 13th for me!!! Happy Couponing! :)

Always plan ahead.

I have been thinking all day what I was going to write about today. I have been very busy making all kinds of decorations and 4 cakes but this post has been on my mind. I have heard a lot of people saying how discouraged they are and how they get upset when they go to the store and only get a little savings as apposed to the big savings they want. Some people have been down right mean about the size of their stockpile. Seriously! I am not making this up. I actually saw just yesterday someone post the size of their stockpile how happy they were and just a general nice happy post, then someone who did not have as much and was in my opinion, sucking on some sour grapes, starts drama. All because hers was not as big as the other girls. Seriously, isn't this argument reserved for the guys??

With that said, this takes time, patience, planning, and organization. Now don't let those words scare you! I personally have no time, little patience, I do love to plan, but my organization needs some help too. However I make it work. I am a busy mom of 2. Those 2 do school from home in a virtual school, however I am still their primary teacher. I work from home, when I say I work I mean I have a few online jobs and even my own little boutique that I do craft fairs and sale online. Obviously I also do all the normal day to day things so yes, I have very little time. I use those brief breaks in my day or the time I manage to steal for myself to hunt and gather coupons and deals. Patience because while it may start out small and you may not show a huge savings right away, it will come! In no time you will be asking yourself, "Where am I going to put my next haul at?" If you just have patience it will come, I promise! I had taken a very long break from coupons because, well life got in the way is the easiest way to put it. I decided I was spending too much money and got back into it. I have now been back for only six weeks and I have a lot built back up. My stock pile includes (about) 60 pasta sauce, 20 Alfredo sauce, 40 small boxes of tea bags, 10 toothpaste, 15 jello, 15 pudding, 30 shave gels, 15 various packs of razors, 30 shampoo/ conditioner, 10 body wash, 10 pkgs stayfree, 8 vitamins, 6 female deodorants, 14 male deodorant, 3 pkgs chap stick, 35 boxes cereal, 10 Kraft mayo, 20 knoor sides, 12 uncle bens rice, 7 lbs hamburger, 2 large bags of frozen whiting, 2 bags frozen chicken breast, and 4 pkgs pork chops. Now this is just what I have now, I have been using a lot of this over the past 6 weeks so I have had a lot more. But I have not paid more than about 100.00 each month. I know I have more in the freezer and cabinets too. This is just what comes to my mind. So you see it can happen.
Now I am by no means saying this is what is going to happen for everyone. A lot of it depends on what sales hit. I have been very lucky and have gotten in on a lot of great sales.

A very important part is to plan! Make sure to check match-up sites, forums, and sale ads before the actual sale hits. This will give you extra time to plan and gather your coupons. If you need to order more or trade someone this also allows you the extra time. This is one of the most important things to remember. Always pre-plan your trip! Do not walk blindly into a store hoping to get a great deal, it will not happen!

Keep your coupons organized in which ever manner you choose but always keep them organized. If you cant put them up right away DO NOT CLIP THEM! They will become a scattered mess and this is not a good thing.

Just some tips to follow and trust me, YOU CAN DO IT!

Happy savings! :)

Happy savings dance!

This is a wonderful sale week at Publix and Winn Dixe. As Alicia said in her post right before me, W/D is having a great 1 day only (Friday) sale! As I am planning a party this weekend for my now 9 year old boy (How did that happen???) :(  I plan on stocking up on Chips ahoy cookies. They are on sale for 1.99 which is a WONDERFUL price for those round pieces of heaven :) However I also have a 1.00 off coupon for them making them only .99 each! WOOHOO! Happy mama here! :)

Of course there are a few other things that I will be picking up as well but I haven't settled on a definite list yet. I have been so busy putting together this Minecraft party. Being a crafty mom is a great thing but it get a bit tireing when it seems like each year your kids expect you to out do the last year.

Tomorrow I will hopefully have a bit better post because there will be shopping involved! LOVE those posts :)

Happy savings!

Winn Dixie Friday Sale

Hey all. I have had a very rough day today, running around with doctors appointments and my 11 month old having an ear infection in both ears, and trying to get everything done in one day. I did spend some enjoyable time with my niece today which I don’t get to do very often, just window shopping. But, I almost, ALMOST ( ;) Leigha) forgot to chat with ya’ll today. I just wanted to put a quick reminder out there that tomorrow Winn Dixie is having a one day only sale. So pop in if you can and get Chips Ahoy for 1.99 each (or cheaper with a coupon), Lou Ana Oil for cheap as well as several other things! And if you get there and it’s all gone, or may not actually have the time to shop you can always get a rain check! Those are wonderful little pieces of paper! So you don’t loose out on a great sale! Happy Couponing! :)

Clipping services

Just a quick post tonight. A tip I know well and am finding myself not taking my own advice and paying for it, when you find a great deal and know that you are going to be ordering more coupons from a clipping service, do yourself a favor and order as soon as you know you will be needing more. If you wait trust me when I say they will all be sold out and then you are at the mercy of the hope you will find some.

I myself am in that predicament at the moment and find myself very frustrated. So hope to pass on this bit of knowledge to you and hope you don't find your self stalking the clipping services at the last minute hoping!

Have fun saving! :)

Free Evamore water at Rouses Supermarket

Hello my wonderful couponers! :) So, remember a few days ago I posted about the Free Evamore water! Well, I have been looking and looking and finally found somewhere around me that sells it. If you have a Rouses Supermarket near you (I am in Mississippi), then they carry Evamore waters! I will be making a trip to get my free waters soon! :) Just wanted to let ya’ll know. If you know of anywhere else that sells the Evamore waters, please let us know in a comment below! :) Happy Couponing! :)

Publix up coming sale

Here is just a quick tip tonight seeing as how I had a pretty big post written up and for some reason it decided to get lost in internet land somewhere I have decided to re type that another night. :)

The up coming week at Publix is going to be AWESOME! If you have a Publix around you, I highly recommend you checking out theri sales. Just an example will be 4 lb. Purina dog food bags will be bogo at 8.99 but after coupons they will be 1.27 a bag! I am planning on stocking up! Something to look out for are the vitamin sales, they are normally money makers, this week it is not a vitamin but instead vivarin that ends up being I believe 1.21 money maker. Can you see where my thought is here? Get the vivarin to pay for the dog food total! Get the food and vivarin(I dont use but can give away) all FREE, or well almost anyway. There are a few other really great deals that I am working on so stay tuned!

Happy Saving

(Happy Alicia, I got my own lol)

Great deal at Winn Dixie

Hello all my fellow couponers! I am still not feeling up to par today, but I did stop by Winn Dixie today. I had to get rain checks on some items that they did not have. So when the products come in, I plan to do this deal- Buy two Protein 4 packs that were on sale this week BOGO-8.99. Then use two $5/1 on each deal, making each deal a moneymaker. Then I plan to apply that overage toward the other deal they were running, Buy 10 Vitamin Water for $1 each, get 5 free. So I will be paying $9 for two 4-packs of protein shakes and 15 water! Fabulous! :) Happy Shopping.

Preview the matchups!

Hello again all you awesome couponers! :) Just wanted to give a quick tip tonight. Each week when I look through the match up sites and the sale ads to put together a list before the new sale starts, I will go to that store and walk the aisles to find the products that are on my list to compare to make sure the sizes and all other specified rules match up with the coupon so that I do not get to the store and have a bad surprise waiting on me. I have had this happen before and it is not fun, there for I always take the walk! This is also a good time to grab some coupons from blinkie boxes, tear pads, and booklets in the store. :)

Have fun saving!

Plink

Hello my fellow couponers! I am not feeling very well today so this will be short and sweet. I had to visit the ER today because of chest pains. But while I was there, I remembered that I wanted to tell you all about plink.com. Plink is a good tool to just sit back, use your credit or debit card as usual, and collect rewards. This is what happens. You sign up. You register your credit/debit card, and then you shop! Or go eat dinner, or go to the movies, ect. It’s that simple. And whenever you slide your card at one of the places you signed up for, you get reward points which in turn you can use to get gift cards. It’s so easy! Reward yourself today and sign up! Happy Shopping! :)

Sunday, September 8, 2013

Once again, I am cutting this blog pretty close. Today I had a pretty good reason. I was planning and shopping for most of the day. I grabbed my coupons put them in the organizer, took my 11 year old daughter to help out and get her away from the boys for a bit and put some ice in the cooler. Yes I took a cooler with me today. Nothing says you are ready to tear it up like taking a cooler with you to shop :)

I went to 4 different stores today and had a very positive response from all. Anyone who coupons seriously knows that any day you coupon and do not run into a rude cashier is a good trip! I think today was the best experience I have had to date with cashiers and managers.

Walgreens - Stopped here to see if they had French's infusers but they did not. While I was there I bought my 6 papers. Went through almost all on the rack until I found 6 that had all 3 inserts. I can not stress enough how important it is to check for all inserts before buying the paper!!!

He smiled said not a problem went and promptly packaged it all for me and then put them all in my cart neatly and asked if I needed anything else. I joked and so no thank you I will leave you alone now, he smiled again and said, "Nonsense, we are here to help the customers in what ever they need dear." OMG! Saturday, September 7, 2013

I have been very busy taking out all expired coupons from my binder in hopes of making it just a bit lighter before trying to find homes for all of tomorrows 3 inserts full of new coupons. I got curious and weighed my binder after my 11 year old daughter picked it up and actually hurt her hand. I put it on my postal scal, which goes up to 12LBS and it reached 12 and then said a very big flashing E. This means tha my coupon binder weighs more than 12lbs! This is before tomorrows papers too. So I have decided that I need to try to use as many as I possibly can soon! Or I could just take the chance of actually breaking my back.

So in my deal searching I have found 1 thing so far to be on the look out for. Tomorrow in the Smart Source will be a 1/1 VO5 shampoo and starting tomorrow VO5 is on sale for 1.49 Use the coupon from tomorrows paper making each shampoo and conditioner just .49 each! Hopefully I find lots of other deals like this for tomorrow!

Happy shopping! Don't forgot to get your papers in 2's!

Walmart savings 9/7

I went to Walmart today to get just a few things that we needed for the house, and didn’t have very many coupons. However I am pretty happy with my savings. I purchased several different things to include bananas (price matched for .39 lb from Winn Dixie), bell peppers (price matched at .39 ea from Winn Dixie), 14 cans of tuna price matched at .59 ea, 10 Gillette Shaving gels travel size, and 2 packs of seasoning that were 1.64. I used 8 coupons for 1.00/2 Starkist Tuna, 2-6.00/3 Gillette Shaving gels, and 2-3.00/2 Gillette Shaving gels, and 2-2.00/1 seasoning. So, before coupons my total was 77.34, and after coupons it was 47.34. I saved a total of $30 just in coupons, not counting the price match saving! A pretty good deal! :)

Quick Walgreen's trip

I am so busy this month that I have not been able to do the shopping I would like to be doing. School is back in, since my kids do virtual school from home, making me their primary teacher that takes a big chunk of my day. I have a mini vacation I am planning for in a couple weeks and in that vacation we are having a Minecraft birthday party for my son where I am making most of the decor and favors and of course all the food and cake, so this takes a bit of planning. There are many other day to day tasks that I have that I will not bore you with. Anyway, with that being said I am going insane! So many deals, not enough time!

Tonight I chose to stay home to get some things done while my husband took our son to karate. I asked him to grab a few things that we needed and this was the out come.
Went to Walgreen's, got 4 dozen eggs @ .99 each, 1 milk @ 2.99 no coupons just on sale. Not bad. Then he got 2 McCormick spices for 2.19 each used a coupon for 2.00 off each. That is not bad either, however I had given them to him last night to get from a different store where they are a money maker but they were out. So instead of making money he spent .19 on each. Not bad for something we need but knowing that I could have made money on them I was not ecstatic over this. But what are ya gonna do? He did his best and that is all I can really ask for. :)
All in all not bad. Now that I have the eggs and milk I can start those cakes!

Vitamin water at Winn Dixie

Hey all! I just wanted to drop a quick line and let ya’ll know about a great deal Winn Dixie has going on right now, and no coupons required! Winn Dixie has Vitamin waters on sale, buy 10 at $1 each, and get 5 free! So $10 for 15 waters! That’s fantastic! You can only get one deal per order, but you can do several transactions if needed! My kids love these, and they are better than soda and juices. So stock up! I know I am! Happy Shopping! :)

Coupon App!

Today is just a quick tip. This goes hand in hand with the post I posted yesterday about the different types of coupons. I completely forgot the APP coupons! Ibotta available for download on the Google play store or at https://ibotta.com/  It is available for both Android and I pod, OR I phone. This is a handy little App. You look through their offers click on it and once you buy the item you scan it and answer a few questions and then they deposit the coupon amount in your Paypal account. This makes for a great deal because you can use this on top of store and manufacturer coupons.
I admit that I don't always remember to use this but I am going to try to get in the habit of always checking for its deals.

Happy Downloading, and saving!

*Disclaimer, I am in no way associated with Ibotta!

Small Walgreens order 9/5

Hello again super savers! :) I forgot to post this yesterday, so I will fill you all in today. I went to Walgreens yesterday for just a very small order, but great saving! This week, Walgreens has Cinnamon Toast Crunch cereal on sale for $1.68, and Lindsey Olives for .99 with in store coupon. There is a printable for $1/1 Cinnamon Toast Crunch (Pillsbury.com) and $1/2 Lindsey Olives (their website), so I got 2 boxes of cereal for .68 each, and 4 jars of olives for .49 each, plus I had to get 2 fillers (clearance, found two stocking stuffers for .50 each). So I saved a total of $4 with coupons! I only paid $4.77 for all 8 items! :)

Hello my lovely coupon friends!

I have noticed today in some of the forums there were a lot of questions and even controversy over the different types of coupons out there. At the moment I can think of 7 different types. Yes, you heard me right, there are 7 different ways to potentially save! Take a moment and just let that sink in. Would you like to know them? Of course you would, that is why you are here isn't it? Either that or you just think I am totally awesome and hang on my every word :) Yeah, ok I will get to it.

 Manufacturer Coupons

These are the ones that you will see most often. They are what you find in the Sunday paper. By the way always buy in 2's for Sunday papers! :) You can also get Manufacturer coupons by going to their web pages and even on Face book sometimes. You can also find some walking in stores on items and in blinkie boxes.  (I will explain these later) These are pretty cut and dry.

Store Coupons

These coupons are normally found in the store itself in a flyer or ad the store puts out. Most stores will let you use 1 store coupon AND 1 manufacturer coupon on 1 item! This makes for a GREAT savings and is commonly called stacking. We LOVE stacking!  Store coupons will have the store name or logo somewhere on that coupon. Normally you are only allowed to use that coupon in that store only, however there are a few stores that will take competitor coupons. Make sure to ALWAYS have a copy of your stores recent coupon policy for a list of any competitors coupons it will accept.

E-Coupons

E-coupons are handy, but not everyone will accept them. They are a greener choice, and if you forgot a coupon at home and it is available on the internet this could be a great save for the day. E-coupons are available from both manufacturers and stores. Once again please make sure to chek the coupon policy before planning on using this method. There are some stores like Target that also offer incentives of a % off your purchase on top of all other coupons by letting them scan an e-coupon from their Target Cartwheel site.

Printable

These, once again can be either manufacturer or store coupons. These are great! They reset once a month (most at least) and you can sometimes score some very high value coupons this way. There is a down side here however. There are some shady people out there that take advantage of people and put out fake coupons. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE make sure when you are printing off the internet, make sure it is from a reputable web site. Alicia just posted in the post before this a few great web sites to find printable coupons.

 Blinkie

This is a magical box that was sent from the wonderful manufacturers to put a smile on the face of couponers everywhere! Ok so that may have been a bit much, but you get that these are great! Normally they will give out 2 right away and then there is a delay to get the next and next. Yes I know this because I have waited and even come back for some that are that good. You will find these in the same area as the product that it is a coupon for. There is a little fight over these as some people will clean a box out leaving none for anyone else. I would say to practice what you would tell your kids, don't do to someone that you would not want done to you. Meaning, only take what you need and will use. There is no limit set but there is a courtesy that should be used here. That being said, if you are going to use 12, then go ahead, you will be waiting a bit but good things come to those who wait, right :)

Tear Pad

The tear pad is much like the blinke but the difference is that they are just out there in the open, no wait, no delay, no limit. Same rules should apply here as with the blinkie box, SHARE! Only take what you will use. These are a bit more fought over than the blinkie boxes as they are just out there and much easier to take without delay. But aside from that, these are great coupons, and generally these are usually high values too. Just because you take it does not mean you have to use it at that trip, you can take it home put it with your other coupons to use with a sale or a future shopping trip.

Peelie

These lovely (normally) small pieces of sticky paper are by far the MOST controversial of all coupons. Some will refuse to say if they take them or leave them because the back lash can be horrible! So hopefully I will not get yelled at for this. Remember the "Don't shoot the messenger" saying when you read this part.
Ok, yes they are WONDERFUL! I see these are usually some of the best value coupons you will find. And yes they are stuck to a package where some believe that they should be so when they buy that product they get that coupon. Others believe that they are put there to take to use when they see fit. I am here to say that there really is no right or wrong here. No it is not nice to take all of them leaving none for the next person. Yes it is legal to take them as they are just a coupon. I have seen people yank all of them off of product before and thought, "Man I hope they are going to at least use all of them."  But no, I personally do not see anything wrong with taking a few if you are going to use them. Just be kind and don't clear all.

And that sums it up. I am sure I am forgetting some but this is a pretty good start at figuring out what the differences are and what they are good for. Now get out there and get those coupons!
